Award-winning writer Lisa Loomer (The Waiting Room, Girl: Interrupted) penned this comic drama about one mother's search for answers in the age of Ritalin. Alerted by his teacher that her 9-year-old son may have Attention Deficit Disorder, a mother dives into research mode, reading books and reports, talking to medical professionals and psychiatrists, studying homeopathy and exploring clinics -- while the father believes his son is just having a normal childhood. Family life, pharmaceuticals and social expectations are all put to the test in this timely play, presented by Underground Railway Theater, a project of Catalyst Collaborative@MIT. Learn More

So lets get the big picture out of the way-- I enjoyed myself at this production of Cah Talk. There were a number of times the production got big laughs and I was entertained for sure. Details? The acting was at a much higher level than the script. Acting, dancing, singing were first class. The material: The best songs were take offs of Broadway tunes from West Side Story, The Sound of Music etc, that were quite cleaver. Otherwise the story line was unclear at times and there were several slow spots.

Being a Tappit brothers fan for years this was extremely funny.
The dancing, the music, the parodies were great!

Very funny and witty! At times it did feel somewhat drawn out, but I enjoyed the way many of the songs were parodies of other well-known musicals and I also liked the "Wizard of Oz" central theme. Overall, I would recommend this musical to those who are fans of "Car Talk" and musical theater.
