Now in its 39th year, A Prairie Home Companion is a beloved throwback to old time radio shows and a time when the whole family would gather around the living room for a weekly visit with their favorite characters. Written and hosted by Garrison Keillor since it began production in 1974, A Prairie Home Companion is heard on over 600 public radio stations across the country. Every week, listeners (and the live studio audience) check in with the residents of the fictional idyllic town of Lake Wobegon. In between comedy skits, the show features folk music acts. A Prairie Home Companion was recently made into a feature film by director Robert Altman. This show will also feature special guests Lily Tomlin, Paula Poundstone, and Jearlyn and Jevetta Steele. A bit disappointing. They threw 2 or 3 half-baked locals at us as a 'warm-up' but these largely need to focus on a different career possibility. Two out of three were terrible. One was OK. They have you out of there in an hour and a half. The headliner really just trotted out his same-old, same old.

This was a great event in a very happenin' part of town. It was lively, fun and the right price for people on a budget.

Really great vibe at the new location!
It was a nice round of comedians and no surprise, the first couple acts were not that good, but each new stand-up showed improvement as the night went on.
There were 5 comedians in total and the last 3 were the best part of night. I would highly recommend this event to others in the Boston area.
