I was not familiar with the venue or this area of Carlsbad and both were a pleasant surprised. I would definitely attend an event there again. My favorite comics were the last two; Lauren O'Brien and Lamont Ferguson. Both were polished and the comedy not forced. The other two comics did not seem like natural comics and the jokes were childish. I really enjoyed the show.Written on Feb 13 2012

Comedians Lamont Ferguson and Lauren O’Brien take the stage at the Carlsbad Village Theatre for a special (before) Valentine’s Day stand-up comedy show.
Lauren O’Brien is a comedian turned morning radio personality on “The Mikey Show” on San Diego’s FM 94.9.
Ferguson has appeared on Comedy Central and Comics Unleashed. In addition to his television credits, he was named LA’s Hottest Comic (KMPC radio/The Improv Comedy Club), a finalist in the San Francisco Comedy Competition (the nation’s longest running contest); a distinction that he shares with great comedy names such as Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres, Dana Carvey and Kevin Pollak, and he has the distinguished honor of being the opening act for Bill Cosby, George Lopez, Steve Harvey and the late great George Carlin.
