We enjoyed the venue and a number of the comedians. Comedy is in the eye of the beholder, so some routines were better than others. But overall, we had a very nice time with some good laughs. Thanks.Written on Sep 19 2005

August 19-20: Steve Bruner & Robert Laravierre
Steve Bruner- Steve's clean style of comedy is very popular makes him one of our most requested comedians. Steve has appeared on "An Evening at the Improv", Showtime's comedy Club network and NBC . He is an award winning writer as well. Steve Bruner's observational style of comedy has a universal appeal as he discusses a variety of topics such as weddings, childhood and travel.
September 17: Bobby Tessel & Lorrie Cohen
Bobby Tessel is one of the few comics that has appeared on both the Tonight Show w/Jay Leno and the Late Show with David Letterman. Now he is making his second trip to the NCF. Within seconds of his arrival on stage, he captures the crowd and squires them away into an atmosphere of comfortableness. "The other day I won fifty dollars in the instant lottery", which was very exciting, y'know, so, I quit my job."
The Pearl St. Players is a group that originally started over 10 years ago at the Comedy Store in La Jolla, CA. The address of the Comedy Store is 916 Pearl St.; hence the name the Pearl St. Players. Some of the original members of that cast that have moved on to slightly greener pastures include: MAD TV cast member Bobby Lee, Tonight Show and E's- Shayma Tash, Fox's Best Damn Sports Show Period- Jonathan Gotsick and Emmy Award winning writer for Late Night with Conan O'Brien- Michael Koman to list a few. This current cast hopes to continues the tradition of the Pearl St. proving grounds being a gateway to Hollywood fame and stardom.
