The quirky world of middle-school spelling competitions takes center stage in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a hilarious, Tony Award-winning musical about six awkward would-be spelling champions and their even less well-adjusted parents. Staged by award-winning director Sue Ellen Nelsen, Chanticleers Theatre's new production of this Broadway hit features a delightful cast and loads of laughs, as the musical numbers and polysyllabic words fly. Who will win -- and who will learn the valuable lesson that winning isn't everything? And can you use "capybara" in a sentence? The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee spells fun for all (though some mild references to adult topics may not be appropriate for very young audience members). Learn More

What a fun evening in the theatre! This classic of the American stage was presented with charm and delight from the wonderful cast. The audience had a delightful time celebrating this romp with the Brewster family - special kudos to the actors who played Aunt Abby, Aunt Martha, Elaine, Mortimer, Doctor Einstein and Mr. Witherspoon.

More Information About Arsenic and Old Lace

Description

For the clan known as Brewster, insanity runs in the family. Two sweet old aunts take it upon themselves to poison lonely old men with nothing to live for, as an act of charity. Their nephew Mortimer is getting married, and is trying to negotiate his way around the shenanigans of the house, while trying to keep his new bride from fleeing. Shady brother John returns from a world adventure involving using corpses to change his appearance to elude capture. The merry mayhem continues with bugle-blowing brother Teddy who is charged with burial duties. A ready made comedy hit!
