Chanticleers Theatre Presents The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
- Full Price:
- $24.00
- Our Price:
- $12.00
The quirky world of middle-school spelling competitions takes center stage in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a hilarious, Tony Award-winning musical about six awkward would-be spelling champions and their even less well-adjusted parents. Staged by award-winning director Sue Ellen Nelsen, Chanticleers Theatre's new production of this Broadway hit features a delightful cast and loads of laughs, as the musical numbers and polysyllabic words fly. Who will win -- and who will learn the valuable lesson that winning isn't everything? And can you use "capybara" in a sentence? The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee spells fun for all (though some mild references to adult topics may not be appropriate for very young audience members). Learn More

Cute show with an Archie-Bunker type fellow, used to having his own way in his family and reacting outrageously to his middle aged wife's unexpected pregnancy. His sweet wife becomes more liberated during her early pregnancy, with the help of a friend, and their daughter and son-in-law who live with them finally begin to grow up and take on some responsibilities. Very funny! Effective 1950's living room set and dress. An enjoyable evening with added bonus of a nice opening night reception.Written on Feb 16 2009

The evening was full of laughs! The actors and actresses did a great job with their parts. I would encourage anyone interested in little theatre to attend. I love how cozy it is and how you feel so much a part of what is going on.Written on Mar 11 2009

Don't miss this Broadway hit about a married man in his 50's who suddenly learns he is becoming a father again. The fact that his 24 year old daughter and son-in-law live with them only adds to the problem. Lots of laughs.
