Based on the playwright's life and considered one of Arthur Miller's most personal plays, After The Fall follows a man on his quest to make peace with his own history and with the tumultuous world around him. This experimental portrait of a man struggling with the choices he has made in his public and private life examines the personal, political and universal forces that collide when we "fall" from innocence. Following the death of his second wife, Quentin tries to move forward, but he must also relive childhood losses, failed marriages and the effects of the 1950s' Blacklist. This rarely produced classic is presented by the HumanArts Theater Company. Learn More

The Gingerbread Lady is preformed at the Chanticleers Theatre in Castro Valley. The theatre is very small and quaint. It reminded me of an old school house, (think Little House on the Praire). There is great charm in this location. Don't let the size fool you into thinking the play will be some cracker jack act. It is anything but that. The play was riviting, when it was time for intermission I wanted the play to keep going. There was no time that I was not wisked away in this true to life play. They captured the emotions and pulled the audience in to their world. If the prices were that of a Broadway play I would still suggest this play. really it is that great. The content, location and actors made for a great experience. If that is not enough during intermission cookies and cookie were served, donations accepted. After the preformance an entire line of tables were fully packed with yummy treats for all of the patrons.Written on Oct 26 2009

This was an outstanding play and my whole group thoroughly enjoyed it. The acting was superb and drew one into the characters. I could not imagine a better interpretation of this play...it was tight, concise and executed with razor sharp precision. Congratulations to everyone connected with this oustanding performance.
