Great show with such witty zinger lines and well acted, snarky, mean behavior with all the royal family. King and Eleanor were particularly talented. Set works well for the various scenes. Highly recommend attending this classic show, and be prepared for some very funny barbs as well as intriguing stalemate situations. Well done!Written on Mar 08 2010

This was a very delightful show. I had not seen it before and was pleasantly surprised to discover that it's actually quite funny, even farce-like in one scene. Many of the best lines are delivered with royal aplomb by Chris Macomber, who makes an excellent Eleanor.Written on Feb 25 2010

Description
Chanticleers Theatre is pleased to present battles of wit, royalty and honor in James Goldman’s The Lion In Winter, directed by artistic director Gary Wright.
King Henry II of England has three sons by Eleanor of Aquitaine: Richard, Geoffrey and John. Henry wants John to succeed him, but Eleanor favors Richard. The story centers on the personality conflicts and shifting alliances among the estranged couple and their sons, who plot to be named heir to the throne.
