Take Noël Coward's wit and cross it with the ingenious plotting of Agatha Christie and the result is Death by Design, the new "comedy with murder" from playwright Rob Urbinati (Karaoke Night at the Suicide Shack). This mysterious mash-up is set at Cookham, the country estate where Edward Bennett, a playwright, and his wife Sorel, an actress, have retreated to nurse their wounds after a disastrous opening night. But any hope of privacy is ruined when various guests unexpectedly arrive, lugging trunks (and dark secrets) behind them. When one guest winds up murdered, only Bridgit, the feisty Irish maid, has the gumption to take the case. Suzan Lorraine directs this new classic for Chanticleers Theatre. Learn More

A great mystery and well-cast. One of the most solid casts we've seen at Chanticleers. The actors kept us guessing in this classic who-dunnit. The direction kept us engaged with lots of comedy thrown in too. A solid, very good show.
