Since I attended with Y Pover, I concur with everything she said. I always find something I wasn't looking for as well as a few things I need. The quality of the vendors is excellent. Loved the dogs doing tricks show. We got there right about when it opened and it was crowed but even more so when we left after about 4 hours! They have food vendors for the humans too.

I liked this event even though there weren't that many cat-related products or booths. I was told by a lot of the vendors that I need to come back in September for the Capital Cat Show. FYI for other cat people. I still found a lot of great cat products including a cat toy that's made in the USA and is now my cat's favorite thing to play with. I also liked the pet health related booths like the husband and wife team that has online vet advice and the guy who was talking about dental health. All in all I'm glad I attended the "Petpo" (as my sister calls it). I had a good time seeing everyone with their dogs and checking out all of the booths. I just wish there were more varieties of pets and pet products at the expo. It seemed more like the dog and reptile expo with a few cat, rabbit, and sugar glider booths sprinkled in.

I felt the Pet Exoiit was enjoyable, especially being able to take my Shitzu. However, I went on Sunday and I found there to be much more things to see and buy on Saturday of 2009. Maybe Saturdays are better than Sundays? I could not find any pretty pet food bowls and that was dissapointing. I enjoyed the entertaing dog jumping over it's owner and catching frisbies.

EVO High Flying Athletic Dog Show: See world class canine athletes who jump super high catching Frisbees along an agility race with tunnels, weaves, jumps and more. Disc dog is the more generic termfor what is commonly called Frisbee Dog. See distance catching and somewhat choreographed freestyle catching.

Hot Dog Pig Racing: The hottest new pig racing show in this country is Hot Dog Pig Racing. These awkward but cute and cuddly racing animals will fascinate everyone. Watch these natural comedians bolt from the starting gate and race around the track snorting and squealing, stubby legs churning and curly tails sailing along behind. Races include the Hollywood Hog All Stars, Royal Pigs of Hameot, International Stunt Team, Hot Dog Pig Gracing Team and the Super Hot Dog Team.

Wiener Dog Racing Team: See a team of high energy miniature dachshunds dressed in burns and finished with mustard or ketchup. During the racing action, you will see wiener dogs running through an agility course. Dachshund (or wiener dog) races are not career racers nor bred for racing. Wiener takes all.

Stupid Pet Trick Auditions: The Late Show with David Letterman is looking for contestants for upcoming Stupid Pet Tricks segments. Your trick must be fun, unique and safe. The sillier and stranger the better. All types of animals are welcome. Auditions will be taped and sent to the Late Show with David Letterman for consideration. Selected participants will receive a  free trip to New York for a chance to perform their trick on the stage of the Ed Sullivan Theater in front of millions of Late Show viewers.

Puppy Playground: The World’s Largest Indoor Puppy Playground spanning nearly 5,000 square feet guarantees to be a fun and educational environment for your dog. There is no better way to socialize man’s best friend.

Dog Agility Demonstrations and Dog Agility Classes: Trainer extraordinaire Kathy Benner and several of her human and four legged friends will direct various dogs through an obstacle course in a race for both time and accuracy. Animal Talent Agent: Dawn Wolfe, owner of Pawsitively Famous Animal Actors, has made a name in the Hollywood industry as the “trainer of the pet stars.” Currently serving as the talent coordinator and wrangler for the Animal Planet TV show Dogs 101, Dawn’s previous work has been featured in several films and various national commercials. She will be presenting a free workshop on “Getting Your Pet into Show Business.” Plus she will be evaluating animals at the show for modeling and talent opportunities.

Virginia Reptile Rescue: See a magnificent display of exotic animals including a bearded dragon, blue tongued skink, leopard gecko, Russian tortoise and various lizards. Education programs will be taking place throughout the weekend.

Ask the Trainer: Representatives from the International Association of Canine Professionals are happy to answer all of your questions about your pets’ behaviors.
