From uproarious comedies like The Odd Couple to hard-hitting dramas like The China Syndrome, Jack Lemmon was one of the most versatile actors of his generation. Now, his distinctive voice returns to the stage as son Chris Lemmon portrays his father in a new solo show exploring his unlikely journey from Newton, Mass. to becoming the first actor ever to win the Oscar for both Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor. Trained in classical piano, Chris Lemmon's music-filled performance is a celebration of one of Hollywood's greatest legends, and an exploration of a fascinating relationship between father and son. The show is written and directed by Hershey Felder, whose one man productions -- including George Gershwin Alone, Maestro Bernstein and last season's smash hit Mona Golabek in The Pianist of Willesden Lane -- have played to great acclaim worldwide. Good play, bad very crowded seating arrangements!!! 1.5 of extremely uncomfortable chairs and not enough room even to turn. Seating unassigned so arrive early to choose the front row seats. Parking across the street for $10 or street parking if you are lucky.
Overall, 1 for the comfort and a 4 for the play (out of 5).

Incredible! I saw this production twice already and I'd love to go back for more! A strong and clever script, compelling direction, and two extremely capable counterparts to bring it all to life! It's what a night at the theater is all about!
In A Beautiful Spell, Jim and Franny wake up in the middle of the night panicked to discover that they no longer love each other. Is it real or just a night terror? Frightened and confused, the couple struggles desperately to get back what they’ve lost – before the sun comes up. A Beautiful Spell exposes the deep and sometimes painful truths that lie beneath the surface of wedded bliss in this hilarious and touching new play.
