Award-winning playwright Laura Marks penned this contemporary chiller about Mari, a first-time mom who's about to embark on a home birth, aided by her totally supportive husband, mother and midwife. But by the next morning, she's somehow become convinced that the newborn isn't hers after all, triggering a truly terrifying family crisis. This Gift Theatre production of Mine stars company members Hillary Clemens, Gabriel Franken, Alexandra Main and guest artists Cyd Blakewell and Deborah Ann Smith. Playwright Laura Marks (Bethany, Gather at the River) is a recent winner of the 2012 Leah Ryan Prize for Emerging Women Writers. Learn More

star this review starred report as inappropriate3rd show I've seen at the Gift Theatre... I like the environment of this local theater... Always enjoy the energy and enthusiasm of the actors.
Access: Train and bus 2 blocks away... Parking is relatively easy.. (Plenty of metered parking, BUT the meters run 2 hours only --- (so, you might have to feed the meter at intermission)... BUT, if you go a few blocks west, you will find free street parking...
"Absolute Hell": ... Large, energetic cast.. Enjoyed it alot.. My friend mentioned the word "experimental".. I agree... It is unique in many ways... Worked for us and the rest of the audience...
Notes: General Admission: The theater space is small, so all the seats are right next to the stage.. (However, if you want to sit in the center, show up early).. We showed up 5 minutes before showtime and sat at the end of the stage... Yet, that view/perspective was very appealing... The performance is 2 1/2 hours, so it is lengthy... But, if you want to spend a few hours watching nifty dialogue in a bar room setting, I recommend giving it a try...
