One of Gilbert and Sullivan's most successful operas, The Hypocrites' reimagined Mikado returns to the stage. Set in the fictional Japanese town of Titipu, where flirting has been made a capital offense, The Mikado tells the story of a wandering minstrel who falls for a betrothed woman. An intelligent satire, the Japanese setting allowed Gilbert and Sullivan to slyly mask their commentary on contemporary British society. Directed by The Hypocrites' founding artistic director Sean Graney, the hit production features a cast of 12 actors who also make up the orchestra. This classic and surprisingly modern tale of star-crossed lovers features the tunes "Three Little Maids From School Are We" and "A Wand'ring Minstrel I." Learn More
Annie Bosh is back. 22 years old and fresh out of rehab, she finds herself working in a bowling alley, living in her mother’s ritzy subdivision, and desperate to move on with her life. Slipping out of the front gates, Annie wanders the chaotic streets of a post-Hurricane Katrina Houston, but what exactly is she looking for?
