American Theater Company (Chicago, IL)
American Theater Company presents the Chicago premiere of Richard Dresser's Augusta, directed by Saturday Night Live alum Nora Dunn. This searing dark comedy puts the clash between working people and corporate America under the microscope. Two women and their boss scheme with and against each other as they strive to make a housekeeping service their ticket to success, or at least stability. As the trio's desperation moves them to test ethical limits, Augusta confronts the real meaning of getting ahead.

Any opportunity to see now NYC-based American Theater Company founding member KATE BUDDEKE on stage here is not to be missed and this play of corporate manners serves her and fellow cast members fairly well in its 90 minute running time, directed by Chicago returnee NORA DUNN.The most recent time I'd seen her on stage was in the Broadway revival of GYSPY with Bernadette Peters, for which she received a Tony nomination,as one of the strippers. Her performance
are always ones of unflinching honesty and humanity.May she be able
to return more often.

Considering the great deal it was, the play was Ok. When you consider we got the tickets for a Saturday night. I guess you could say the best part was the great deal we got on the tickets.

Very good play!!!!
