Neil Simon's Barefoot in the Park is a Tony-nominated comedy about the just-married Paul and Corie Bratter, who move into a dilapidated New York brownstone apartment. Faced with reality after their honeymoon high, the young couple clashes over the building's disrepair, their eccentric neighbor, a surprise visit from Corie's mother, and ultimately at the heart of it all, Corie's free-spirited ways vs. Paul's more conventional personality. Filled with Neil Simon's witty repartee and hilarious characterization, watching the ups and downs of married life has never been so enjoyable.

It's not hard out here for a Pimprov at Chicago's Chemically Imbalanced Theater. The show has been hailed by critics and audiences alike as one of the most original and hilarious unscripted comedy events in town. Performers include Mark Bratton as "Ho'Lease," Jonathan Keaton as tap-dance happy "Daddy Jenkins," creator Marz Timms as the enterprising "Grand Finale," and Keith Smitherman as the enforcer "Poochie." With plenty of opportunity for audience involvement, Pimprov provides a dangerously funny and unpredictable evening of laugh-filled entertainment. Learn More

This is one of my favorite films of all time so to say I know every line is an understatement. However, this version was so charming and funny that I didn't mind the changes. And ERIC BAYS is amazing as Paul. I think the whole audience fell in love with him. Great work!

BITP gets better every time I see it. ERIC BAYS gets funnier and funnier!
So many great jokes that multiple viewings are mandatory. This is my third time and am seeing it again this weekend.

Second time I 've seen BITP and it was even funnier this time. Eric Bays was great again and I was able to catch more of his throwaway gems. Great way to spend a dreary, rainy Sunday afternoon. I plan on seeing it again.

Description

Paul and Corie Bratter are newlyweds in every sense of the word. He's a straight-as-an-arrow lawyer and she's a free spirit always looking for the latest kick. Their new apartment is her most recent find-too expensive with bad plumbing and in need of a paint job. After a six day honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie's straight laced mother and decide to play matchmaker during a dinner with their neighbor-in-the-attic Velasco, where everything that can go wrong, does. Paul just doesn't understand Corie, as she sees it. He's too staid, too boring and she just wants him to be a little more spontaneous, running "barefoot in the park" would be a start...

Starring:
Sarah Rose Graber as Corie Bratter
Eric Bays as Paul Bratter
Gary Murphy as Victor Velasco
Laura MacGregor as Mother
Dennis Schnell as Telephone Repair Man
Directed by Josh Johnson
