A one-man terrorist cell wages war ... all because somebody killed his cat in The Lieutenant of Inishmore. Oscar-nominated writer Martin McDonagh is famous for mixing his black Irish humor with a Tarantino-esque flair for violence in movies like In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths. But he's at his best in this stage drama of revenge, cats and blind justice. Mad Padraic, a terrorist too fanatic for the IRA, is enraged and grief-stricken when Wee Thomas, his beloved kitty, has "taken poorly" back home -- i.e. been found flattened on a local roadside. So Padraic returns to the wind-swept Aran Islands for a night of revenge, bloodshed and (yes) comedy. Derek Bertelsen directs a fresh production for AstonRep Theatre Company. Learn More
The easiest way to get there from either the Loop or Evanston is to take the Red Line to the Granville stop and walk west on Granville to the theater which is on the corner of Granville and Clark. For some odd reason, Google Maps tells you to turn right on to Clark. Don't do it. The Raven Theater is on your left and on the corner of Granville and Clark.Wit travel • Jun 09 2014 star this tip starred

From mixed-race identities to extreme plastic surgery, Beauty On The Vine is a modern fable exploring the power of the human face in Lindsay Lohan America. When a young female star of right-wing radio is brutally murdered, her husband and father investigate the reasons behind the violence. They discover a world where young women transform themselves to look like their idols, and mothers lose their daughters to the illusion of popularity and power.
