Learn all about Chicago's transformation from a swamp, at the intersection of a lazy river and the Great Lakes, to the world's sixth ranked "Alpha City" on this winter version of the Chicago History Tour. While strolling with your tour guide in heated comfort through a portion of the city's Pedway -- a 40-block network of indoor tunnels, ground-level concourses and overhead bridges connecting skyscrapers, retail stores, hotels and train stations throughout Chicago's central business district -- you'll hear fascinating stories of the city's history and amazing architecture along with plenty of amusing anecdotes. During the two-and-a-half-hour tour, you'll visit the Cultural Cultural Center with its Tiffany art glass dome, Macy's Department Store, City Hall and more. Several open atrium areas offer fantastic vistas of Chicago's famous loop.

It was one of the best tours ever! The guide and owner of the company excelled in every way, and his enthusiasm and love for the city carried us thru 3 1/2 hours of intense learning. Places and history came alive, and if that was not enough, we were also treated to a custard ice-cream towards the end of the tour. Three or four people had trouble with their legs/feet, but there were plenty of opportunities to rest, sit down and take the elevators. The guide and owner also was sensitive to rest stops and loaned us fabulous written resources, e.g. maps, photos and history outline we each carried with us in a lovely folder. A wonderful experience indeed!

Impressively knowledgeable guides made the tour entertaining and educational as well. We learnt a lot of fascinating history about Chicago and would highly recommend the tour to tourists and locals as well. The tour was well planned and the supporting documentation and pictures in the guide they shared with us helped bring it all to life. Well done ladies!

My friends and I had a great time! The guide was interesting and held our attention We learned a lot about Chicago's history, and several of us grew up in the city. We really liked learning while we walking through the pedway, which none of us had ever used.
It is a long walk and the guide walks quickly, but it is a great city tour. Parking is in the same building where it begins, so easy though costly to park. Lots of fast food places you might want to have lunch at before starting the tour.

I was glad that I had read the reviews ahead of time to realize this was more of a history tour than a pedway tour. While the concept of a pedway tour was what made me sign up to begin with, I did learn a few things and ventured into areas I had not been before. I was disappointed that portions of the tour were left off because off supposed closing of the pedway access. However, I would recommend the tour overall.
