Double Feature of Dark Comedies: Closing Time and The Imminent Future
The Annoyance Theatre & Bar debuts a double feature of dark comedies on stage. Closing Time is a noir, crime drama directed by Jack Swokowski, who also appears in the show. Influenced by the works of novelists Donald Westlake, Elmore Leonard and George V. Higgins, the story unfolds when shady characters emerge as the money's being counted at closing time of a pizza parlor. Writer/director/star Ben Larrison's The Imminent Future is an absurdist comedy about a day in the life of two friends who are traveling together in post-apocalyptic America. Alone in the wilderness and struggling to survive, they're even more confused when they encounter a lost little boy.

Jack's on Halsted is just a couple of blocks away. If you eat there, you can purchase a $5 parking pass good for the whole evening. They'll even keep your leftovers (if you have any :-) -- in the fridge so you can pick them up after the show. Nice outdoor dining in backstar this tip starred
