Nominated for a 1999 Tony Award for Best Play -- and later adapted into the 2004 feature film starring Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Julia Roberts and Clive Owen -- British actor-comedian-playwright Patrick Marber's Closer provides a cutting close-up on modern love. In contemporary London, four lives romantically intertwine over the course of four-and-a-half years in this densely plotted, stinging examination of love, lust and betrayal. This award-winning play has been translated into more than 30 languages, and has been a critical and popular favorite since it premiered in 1997. A deeply layered drama, Closer has been called "bruising and beautiful, shatteringly funny and devastatingly sad" by Variety magazine. Learn More

Had such a great time. The production was outstanding. The Red Theater Group is relatively new to Chicago, but they had great energy and the actors were amazing. The Den is such a wonderful little gem of a theater, warm and cozy space. Nice bar area between acts. Met a nice couple from Minneapolis who were also very impressed.
