EL Stories: Real-Life Mass-Transit Adventures
Greenhouse Theater Center, Formerly Victory Gardens Greenhouse Theater (2257 N. Lincoln Avenue Chicago, IL 60614)
The performance group known as the Waltzing Mechanics creates original theatrical works out of conversations with real Chicago commuters. For EL Stories, they've taken mass-transit stories from a variety of Windy City citizens from various backgrounds and neighborhoods and turned them into a fun and creative EL ride that explores how Chicagoans interact as a community. In performing the words of actual riders' transit adventures, the Waltzing Mechanics seek to reflect how we move as a community through this dynamic city.

Actors and actresses act out funny / odd situations that happen on the "El" everything from a nerdy girl giving her boyfriend a blow job on the train because she is "nervous" about meeting his parents to a man telling another man to give up his seat to the 10-month pregnant woman upon which the bus shifts and the defender punches the woman in the face!Written on Apr 02 2012
