Complex and intelligent script, beautifully acted. VERY funny. Already witty lines turned into gems by deft timing. Devastating revelations about human nature.
Experience made all the better by sitting near the playwright and director. ...continued

The writer would benefit from some serious editing. The second act is way too long and the ending falls flat. The idea behind the play is interesting, and there were some good moments in the first act, but the second act ruined the play for me....continued

Very well written and complex plot lines that can sometimes be hard to keep up with. Very capable cast as well.

Great performance in the intimate setting of the Biograph where you are close enough to feel like you are part of the play. A wonderful performance by all cast members and a cleverly written play. You will definitely appreciate it more if you are...continued

You can tell the playwright is a very intelligent person, the interplay between British history, Shakespeare’s plays and a unique plot was very well done. Though the ending (and lack of ‘Boom’ in the conclusion – talk about meta parallel of art...continued

This is an intelligent, clever and even wise play. It is historically informed, religiously deep, politically sound. All the reviews so far are from the previews, and I have no doubt that it will be at 5 stars when it goes into production -- since...continued

The first act was great, the writing witty and many dramatic devices were employed to good effect. Unfortunately, after the intermission, it was like the playwright wasn't quite sure how to get where he was going. So the play gained momentum...continued

I felt that this well acted play was too long and too talky, as the playwright tries to state intellectual issues.. I recommend it for big Shakespeare fans, but other play-goers may feel the same as me. Costumes and set were well done and all six...continued

Some of the writing and lines were very good but the play needs to be tightened. It is about 30 minutes too long.

Parts of it were brilliant - others, not so much. The adage about nothing new under the sun, is quite apt. The parallels drawn to events of today, is handled well. At times the voices of a few actors dropped, making it difficult to hear. This was...continued

It is a very informative play, but quite long. Some background in English History would be helpful-and Shakespearean Literature.

Since the play was still in previews, there will be some changes to it before the opening. All in all, I really enjoyed the performances and the story (though at times confusing) was interesting, especially to anyone who is familiar with...continued

A thought-provoking show, generally well done. I give it four stars instead of five for what I see as some directorial missteps. Still, a good show well worth attending.

Interesting play that provides a view of the present political dilemmas through the eyes of Shakespeare and his band of actors. Strong performances that will only get better as the run progresses.

Play based on good idea. Implementation needs good bit of work. Struggled for an ending. Actors having a bad night? Their resumes promise a better performance, across the board, than we got.

Entertaining play with a lot of clever words, so listen carefully. The play has a thoughtful message, but it is too long for my taste. If it were shorter, the audience could focus more on the message. Acting and staging were excellent.

I would give Equivocation a B+ for acting (some sequences were very skillfully performed), a C for writing, and a D for editing.

Basic issue: It tries to do too much, feels rushed, and takes way too long to do it.

Intriguing with humor, but one really had to pay attention. I continue to think about it, which is a good thing.
