Wes Perry's Don't Act Like A Girl is an outrageous one-man show with a three-person band, queer teen angst and plenty of confetti. It flashes back to the life of an awkward young loner who is misdiagnosed, over-prescribed and misunderstood until a fatal trip to fat camp ultimately changes his life. Inspired by David Sedaris, Elaine Stritch at Liberty and Chaka Khan, Don't Act Like A Girl uses monologues and songs to tell true stories of special education, musical theater, 9/11 and teenage drag queens. Attended the show with 2 of my friends and this was by far the worst show that any of us have ever seen. The jokes were extremely offensive and the acting was poor. I kept waiting for the show to get better but it just became more and more painful.Written on Dec 22 2008
