Since premiering in 1987, The Joffrey Ballet's production of The Nutcracker has become America's favorite Nutcracker, touring coast to coast more than any other. This beloved holiday masterpiece for the whole family features the entire ballet company, plus local children's choruses, young dancers and a full orchestra performing Tchaikovsky's famous score live. It's the magical tale of young Clara, whose Christmas gift of a nutcracker comes to life and brings her to a fantastic winter wonderland. The sound quality was dubious. The seats were cramped and some sections were over 150-200 feet away...a large screen with a projector would have helped exponentially, we could barely see the 2 if were not in the main floor area....many people sitting around me left because this felt pretty much like we were trying to eavesdrop on Bourdain talking to Ripert.
Anthony Bourdain is the New York Times bestselling author of Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly, A Cook's Tour and The Nasty Bits, and the host of the TV programs Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations and The Layover.
