The Lakeside Pride Symphony Orchestra had a wonderful holiday show. It definitely put me in the holiday spirit! I think there may be a better venue as the theater was small and could have had better acoustics, but I appreciated that the concert was at the LGBT center (Center on Halsted). I would recommend seeing one of the orchestra's shows.Written on Dec 15 2011

The Lakeside Pride Symphony Orchestra concert Holidays on Halsted was total and pleasant surprise. We had never heard of the orchestra and only went because going would be a cheap and convenient way to kill some time. (We had discount tickets and live less than a block away from the Center on Halsted.) Boy, we were surprised! An outstanding performance that received a standing ovation. And free wine was available, too! We will definitely follow this group and gladly pay full price. (Should we admit that?) Two negatives: Please dim the house lights when the music starts (even if rewiring is involved) and don;t seat people who arrive a full forty-five minutes after the music begins. People who are that tardy are disrespectful of the musicians and the audience. Please don't reward them for their thoughtless behavior! David and JimWritten on Dec 14 2011
