A seriously funny and personal look at the disease that affects millions of people each year, This Is Not a Cure for Cancer is a dramedy that tackles the way we live and the value of life through the lens of cancer. Collaboraction artistic director Anthony Moseley co-wrote the play in the aftermath of his father's battle with cancer, and the provocative, docu-drama work is a stirring piece that has universal understanding despite its personal origins. I enjoyed the parallel stories of Stuart's co-worker and Stuart's trial. The former seemed to outshine the latter. I also appreciated the inclusion of the purple hotel. The pace dragged at times, but overall this was well crafted.
The play runs one hour and 40 minutes.
