Including the most enterprising, inspired use of a gardening tool ever, Will Kern's Kid Sister offers audiences a close-up, wild ride through the lives of a dirt-poor, uneducated brother and sister and those around them.

Kern's writing and...continued

Nobody is doing wild, dangerous theater like Profiles! "KID SISTER," certainly falls within these parameters, and excels in every sense of dangerous theater! The staging is immediate and is definately too close for comfort, but perfect! I...continued

Powerful rendering of the lower-end of humanity's situations and relationships - somewhat similar to "Killer Joe" and use that as a guide about liking this one. Typically expertly performed in the almost too intimate space by a fine group of five...continued

the actors are amazingly fabulous... sooo believable... incredibly entertaining. i also saw killer joe at the royal george and loved that so this was a continuation of more trailer trash...continued

The newspaper reviews and the (so far) one other Goldstar review are accurate. "Kid Sister" is not a happy story by any means, but there are quite a few funny moments. The plot and premise are very similar to "Killer Joe" but not quite as good...continued

This is a memorable play: very heavy, very emotional, some scenes very distressing to watch... and a very good acting as well.
Superb , 5 stars!!!

Worthy successor to Killer Joe, minus the KFC, plus the garden tools.

You don't so much as walk out of the theatre as stumble out after an intense and involved performance. Think of it as a cathartic therapy - not for the faint of heart or...continued

Riveting! I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride. Well acted. Love the intimate space.

An intense play, similar in many ways to Profiles' production of Killer Joe earlier this year, though that one had a comic streak beneath the chaos, a kind of gleefully sinister tone, whereas this one is pure gritty drama. It's forceful and...continued

Some of the professional critics widely disagree about the merits of this play. You need to judge for yourself. I wanted to see Allison Torem and her performance did not disappoint me. I disagreed with one newspaper columinist who commented...continued

“Kid Sister” is the story of an ex-convict unwillingly drawn into a dispute between his kid sister and her violent ex-boyfriend. The style of the production is reminiscent of that of Profiles’ recent “Killer Joe” but the story-line in the current...continued

The acting was great and made the characters really come to life. The play was really over the top violent probably unecessarily so. It made it a satire on violence and perhaps too funny. There was a lot of laughing in the performance I...continued

My girlfriend and I thought the actors would good,
but the story line was not something we enjoyed.

One can say that the subject matter shows a part
of Americana, but it makes for an uncomfortable
evening. Maybe that was intended.

We do...continued

As usual, a great performance on the part of the actors - but the ending fell flat for me. I'd see it for the acting, just forgive the scripts shortcomings.

I was sitting in the first row and had to close my eyes several times. It was too violent for my taste. I should have read the review more carefully. The acting was very good, too realistic for me.

It's unfortunate that I also have to compare Kid Sister to Killer Joe, but that is inevitable. The trailer-trashy characters and decor are hard to really like and from the 1st moments I just knew it would end badly. Jailbait also tugged at the...continued

First off, great staff at the theater. They accommodated us from a previous show we missed. Terrific cast and a fun experience. Felt like you are in the play.
