A masterful mashup of Roman myth and documentary theater, Polaroid Stories is an explosive reimagining of Ovid's Metamorphoses that blends interviews from street-based youth and sex workers with ancient myth. The play takes place in the underbelly of a city, a refuge for those living on the edge of society -- a place where junkies scheme, lovers run and the lost wander. Written by Naomi Iizuka (Language of Angels), this mix of documentary and mythology explores the depths of a metropolis in all of its desire, desperation and transcendence. Learn More

This is the first Young Jean Lee piece I have seen that was not directed by her. The setting is clever, and the cast acquits themselves well. Don't take them up on their mid-show offer: oblique beginning rewarded with genuine emotional payoff on the back end. Totally go.
