We enjoyed the comedy. the space is really nice. We will go back.Written on May 17 2012
We were seated upstairs where there is no bar service. The owners are missing out on a money maker by not sending a waiter up there to take orders. It was our first time there and did not know it was "self serve".

Man, I was blessed with hearing the dynamic Gregory Porter perform at the Mayne Stage tonight! If you saw "It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues" at Northlight Theatre a couple years ago, then you know what I'm talkin' 'bout! If not...you need to school yourselves on Gregory Porter! One of the best male voices on the scene...period! In addition, Mayne Stage is one of my favorite new venues due to the intimate space and great sound. Thank you Goldstar for a stellar evening!Written on Apr 02 2012

Great show for NYE for a great price. Awesome beer selection. Next year you can do without the annoying ABC7 interns in there glitter dresses trying to boss the people that actually paid for tickets. Other than that, it was an excellent show.Written on Jan 02 2012

May 24, 2012: Chris Greene Quartet CD Release Party with Paul Abella Trio
Chris Greene Quartet returns to Mayne Stage for release of A Group Effort. The album was recorded live at Mayne Stage last year. At a time when jazz continues to seek new audiences, the Chris Greene Quartet sits poised on the future’s cusp. In much the way that classical composers have historically used native folk elements as the basis for their art, the CGQ uses familiar modern materials – the funk and hip-hop he heard growing up – as a bridge between jazz and other genres.
The Paul Abella Trio has one goal in mind when they're playing for you: to make jazz fun again. Their unique blend of jazz, samba, rock, blues and folk is quirky and joyous. Their members draw on a combined experience which has seen them work in a wild variety of settings, from church worship teams and symphony orchestras to avant-garde jazz and Grateful Dead cover bands.
May 25, 2012: Third Coast Percussion
The acclaimed Chicago-based percussion ensemble hails the centenary of the groundbreaking American artist John Cage with the release of its first full-length album, and its debut on Mode Records. With exceptional talent and dedicated artistry, this “sonically spectacular” (Chicago Tribune) quartet combines the driving intensity of drums, the beautiful warmth of marimbas and vibraphones, and the surprisingly exotic sounds of everyday objects to make music that is playful, memorable and profound.
May 26, 2012: The New Orleans Suspects
It’s been said that the musicians of New Orleans are all members of one gigantic band that breaks up into smaller groups on a nightly basis. If this were really the case, The New Orleans Suspects would be in a class all their own. The group is comprised of musicians with experience and versatility that rival any other band that the city has ever produced. The band features "Mean" Willie Green from Neville Brothers, Reggie Scanlan from Radiators, Jake Eckert from Dirty Dozen Brass Band, CR Gruver from Outformation and Kevin Harris from Dirty Dozen Brass Band.
About the Ticket Supplier: Mayne Stage
With a nod to the historic past of this grand facility, Mayne Stage features a restaurant (Act One Pub) and performance space that reflects the unique and diverse history of Rogers Park. Mayne Stage is happy to present a variety of terrific acts in its 230-seat multipurpose entertainment venue.
The theater, on Morse Avenue at Wayne Avenue, opened as Morse Theater in 1912, a vaudeville and movie house house. In the 1930s, the facility was remodeled using an Art Deco theme and renamed the Co-Ed Theater because of its proximity to Loyola University. The Co-Ed closed in 1954, and from 1956 until 2008 the building served in various capacities from synagogue to a shoe repair store.
Now, with a recent multi-million dollar restoration and renovation project, the entertainment and dining venue is poised to be a magnet for significant development in this north-side neighborhood.
In addition to live performance, and utilizing its state-of-the-art audio and video systems, the venue offers space for studio recordings, rehearsals, educational programs, corporate events and private parties
