With its superbly performed arrangements of tango classics, Tiempo Tango Chicago performs with originality and style. Their repertoire is unique and flexible. While their mission is to perform tangos, milongas and waltzes, they also offer jazz standards (Cole Porter, Duke Ellington), Brazilian music (bossa nova, samba, choro) and even classical and holiday music, as cortinas, full dance sets or as a mixture. Prior to the performance, there will be free tango dance lessons for audience members.

<p>The group was founded by flutist and tanguera (tango dancer), Julie Koidin. Tiempo Tango Chicago is an instrumental quartet with Julie Koidin - flute, Julien Labro - bandoneon, John Tuck- bass, and Kevin Disch - piano.

Tango, waltz and milonga form the basis of their repertoire as they do in all the popular dance halls in Argentina. They have a unique approach to this repertoire which will give you the sense of a night out-on-the-town in Buenos Aires.

Their concert repertoire consists mainly of the music of Astor Piazzolla, including pieces such as Oblivion, Milonga del Angel, Ballada Para Un Loco, and La Primavera.</p>
