After a recent performance at Joe's Pub in New York City, last year's queer holiday hit We Three Lizas is back with a revamped book and expanded score. Box maker Conrad Ticklebottom's life has hit a stumbling block. At one time, his purple box sparked an entire movement in art and design, but now he's been forgotten and teetering on ruin. Just in the nick of time, the holidays bring three magical figures to his door -- a trio of Liza Minnellis -- to escort him on a fabulous journey through what-was, what-could-be and what-the-f*?!, redeeming his lost promise and reinventing a brand-new Conrad Ticklebottom. I love the original movie. This was the movie script with carols added to it. Disappointed to see that it was not really a musical version with original music at all. The good news was that the children in the audience seemed to love it and enjoyed seeing santa. Personally I'd rather rent the old movie..with Maureen O'Hara as mom. It's a can't miss evening.
A moving adaptation of the classic Christmas film. When a white-bearded gentleman claims to be the real Santa Claus, he brings about a genuine "Miracle on 34th Street," spreading a wave of love throughout New York City, convincing a cynical divorced single mother, her somber daughter, and the entire state of New York that Santa Claus is no myth. Santa will be available to greet children after each performance.
