Nature on Tap: Adults-Only Night at the Notebaert Nature Museum

The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum -- including the Judy Istock Butterfly Haven -- goes adults-only for this fun evening event entitled Nature on Tap. It's a unique chance to stroll around the museum with no kids in sight and a cash bar serving local beer and wine. Featured breweries include Finch's, Revolution, 5Rabbit, Metropolitan Brewing and Two Brothers. As you meander through the evening, check out the current and ongoing exhibits, marvel at the wonders inside the Istock Butterfly Haven, or test your science and nature knowledge in a trivia game. The winning trivia team even will be awarded the coveted Golden Cockroach trophy.

report as inappropriateThe nature museum is wonderful, we never knew it was there. The butterfly room was fun. We really enjoyed the Reptiles brought by the Chicago Herpetological Society and the music of the Kodiak Farm Boys. There was so much to see. There is a parking lot right across the street for $13.00, really convenient. What a great evening.

report as inappropriateCasual and fun. The full museum was open and it was nice to wander without any crowd. I recommend joining the trivia match and checking out the butterfly garden, though most of the butterflies were asleep.
