New Year's Eve Party With The Tossers
Celebrate New Year's Eve With Chicago Irish Punk Band The Tossers
Forget the sterile nightclubs this New Year's Eve and instead celebrate in the neighborhood comfort of The Abbey's Green Room. Siblings Tony and Aaron and their friends Rebecca, Mike, Peter and Bones -- known collectively as The Tossers -- are journeying up from the south side of town to play a rockin' Irish punk concert. The website Irish Punk named the group's Emerald City
album the genre's best of 2013. If you're gonna get green on New Year's Eve, you might as well do it with the group that knows its Emerald Isle roots. And, your ticket includes a glass of champagne for a midnight toast. There's also food and drink available for purchase from The Green Room Pub.

Founded by Scott McCaughey of Young Fresh Fellows and The Minus 5 and Steve Wynn of The Dream Syndicate, The Baseball Project combines a tuneful rock 'n' roll sound with lyrics about the highlights and oddities of baseball past and present. McCaughey spent almost two decades as a touring member of R.E.M., and The Baseball Project's current starting lineup includes the Hall of Fame band's guitarist Peter Buck and bassist Mike Mills, as well as drummer Linda Pitmon.
