A nursing home in northern Idaho is shutting down, making the futures of the longtime employees and three remaining patients uncertain. Even worse, Gerald, a 91-year-old patient suffering from Alzheimer's, has wandered off. The search for Gerald takes place in the midst of a record-breaking blizzard, but that's not the only crisis the staff is dealing with. This Midwest premiere by award-winning playwright Samuel D. Hunter and director Joanie Schultz -- the same team behind last season's The Whale -- is an emotional and funny look at life with plenty of unexpected twists. Learn More

This is the third in a series of plays by this playwright, taking Greek tragedy and making it contemporary and Latino. The production is tight, fierce and engaging. This is a thrilling production which suffers from it's own ambition but succeeds in it's attempt to educate and entertain. Oye!

An all-around powerful, exciting, and beautifully rendered performance! I've already highly recommended it to a number of people. Too bad there isn't more time for folks to have the pleasure of seeing it.

This is not your mama’s Oedipus … In Luis Alfaro’s thrilling reboot of the daddy of all tragedies, a young Chicano ex-con sets out on a journey to be the king of the South Central LA gangland. Set amid the sizzling rhythms and explosive violence of an inner-city barrio, the gripping story follows his family of ex-cons through the vicious cycle of fate and violence in which they find themselves trapped. Oedipus el Rey is a sexy, modern take on a classic.
