Outstanding venue, musicians ~ had not heard/seen Susan Werner before so invited a friend for serendipitous birthday celebration and we had a wonderful evening.....Ms. Werner is creative, humorous, spontaneous and multi-musically talented. The harmonica player was amazing also. Bravo!
NPR Music has called Susan Werner “empress of the unexpected” for her ongoing exploration of musical genres. She began with the American Songbook-style compositions of I Can’t Be New, then the Agnostic Gospel project of 2007 and the chamber music experiments of 2009’s Classics. You’ll be one of the first to hear Susan’s latest endeavor with Chicago’s native language – the Blues. She’ll also play songs spanning her illustrious career.
Susan will be joined by Trina Hamlin on percussion and harmonica and Gail Ann Dorsey on electric bass.
