You've got to be kidding! I felt sorry for the actors who are obviously craftsmen stuck with a pretentious, sophomoric story! The man next to me fell asleep. My friend and I were convulsed by derisive laughter. The play seems to strive for...continued

I see a play a week and this play , with out without JOhn Mahoney, was one of the worst. The long monologues...the screaming at each other....good grief...dont ask this playwright back...my group was ready to kill me for recommeding it...

I thought the staging was creative, and each actor did a fine job establishing character. I think the play stinks. Thee's virtually no story line; actors deliver endless soliloquies as the other players stand paralyzed, waiting. I was bored,...continued

Sorry to say we did not care for the play - and the worst part was that the star of this production dropped out of the entire run before it opened - but 99% of the advertising still has his photos on them. Did not care for the storyline - but all...continued

Loathed this dreadful play which consists of long, pointless, tedious and pretentious soliloques with little or no plot. Desperately wanted to leave, but was in middle of row.
Resented bait and switch with John Mahoney, but understand him not...continued

Though the concept was interesting,(an existential work about these final 4 men competing for the love of Penelope, each trying to outdo the other and get ahead, with the threat of death looming over them), the presentation was a BIG...continued

The acting was excellent. The play long and verbose.

Very disappointed - my whole point in seeing it was to see John Mahoney.

There are some good elements to this production, so it's not a complete time-waster; but the play itself, a new one, needs some rewriting in my opinion.

Very clever on many levels. Disappointed that John Mahoney did not perform that day but hats off to Tracy Letts who, along with the other cast members, did a fantastic job!

This was a really weird play. And John Mahoney is not in it anymore, Tracey Lotts is taking his place.

The set was interesting and the cast very talented. However, the marketing completely promotes the show featuring Mahoney, who was not in the show the night we saw it -- super disappointing, as we love him and he was the reason I bought the...continued

There are some good lines and couple of exciting, tension-filled moments, but some parts really dragged. Good acting. Tracy Letts outstanding in the role that John Mahoney was originally cast in. Yasen Peyankov amazing. These are superb actors....continued

Based on the story The Odyssey, the play was fun, cleverly staged, well-acted & thought-provoking. The soliloquies were very long and require a lot of intense concentration!

Purchased tickets on Friday, (the day before we were going) and the seats were awesome!!! But actually there isn't a bad seat in the house at Steppenwolf. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the performances and the plot was very funny, yet dark at times....continued

Absolutely waste of time! Did not enjoy the show at all. Felt relieved when the show was over. Taking the name of my Lord, Jesus Christ, in vain, repeatedly throughout the play is offensive, poor taste, and exhibits lack of talent.

If you like unpleasant characters giving pretentious monologues then this play is for you. Men are depicted in totally stereotyped ways - hungry for power, ignorant about love - one character even blames his mother for becoming the person he is. ...continued
