Residue follows Jeremy, an aspiring writer struggling to make ends meet while he finished his book. Being a resourceful young man (who may or may not have watched a few episodes of Breaking Bad), he turns to selling cocaine to support himself until his writing starts pulling in dividends. However, the most dangerous commodity in his possession may very well be his unfinished manuscript, a twisted reworking of Jeremy's life that, upon completion, may very well destroy every relationship that helps keep him afloat. This play is presented by Buzz22 Chicago in rep along with Quake.

The Doyle and Debbie Show - A Musical Comedy

Full Price:
$44.50 - $55.50
Our Price:
$22.75 - $28.25

The Doyle and Debbie Show, a comedy/musical show with all-original songs, is both homage and parody, simultaneously idolizing and lampooning country music's tradition of iconic duos and the battle of the sexes that accompany them. Doyle Mayfield, an old-guard country star with a handful of hits back in the '70s and '80s, is reviving his career 30 years, four wives and three Debbies later. The new Debbie, a single mother with three children, sees this lovable Lothario as her last chance to make it big in Nashville -- but she also questions hitching her star to this loose cannon. Enjoyed the story very much. Had some trouble with the lead actor, Jeremy. Felt he misplayed scenes by having a big smile on his face during very grim and intense scenes. It was very out of place and happened several times. It was almost as if it were an amateur production and he could not help from laughing at the intensity of how his fellow actors played the scene.

Outside of that, it was thoroughly enjoyable and overall I would recommend the production.
