The Doyle and Debbie Show - A Musical Comedy

Full Price:
$44.50
Our Price:
$22.75

The Doyle and Debbie Show, a comedy/musical show with all-original songs, is both homage and parody, simultaneously idolizing and lampooning country music's tradition of iconic duos and the battle of the sexes that accompany them. Doyle Mayfield, an old-guard country star with a handful of hits back in the '70s and '80s, is reviving his career 30 years, four wives and three Debbies later. The new Debbie, a single mother with three children, sees this lovable Lothario as her last chance to make it big in Nashville -- but she also questions hitching her star to this loose cannon. We went on a Saturday 5pm performance. There was a small crowd (15 people) which made it difficult to keep the energy level up. There were parts that were quite good but it just ran out of steam.

This show is very funny, my cousin and I were laughing throughout the entire show. I am not Catholic so I liked how the nun made it a point to make sure us non-Cathlics understood the terminology. I totally recommend this show for anyone.

Description

There's a new nun in town and Vicki Quade, creator of the hit show Late Nite Catechism, introduces audiences to Mother Superior in her new show, Saints & Sinners. Mother Superior's ruler is quick, her aim is spot-on, and she wants to know who in the audience is a saint and who are the sinners! Quade calls the show "a funny look at fundraising."

Mother Superior is called by the archdiocese to St. Bruno's to help in their fundraising. The economy is tough, donations are down, and someone has to save the parish! Her clever idea: a calendar of famous saints and famous sinners.

Audiences get to choose which saints and which sinners should go on the calendar. St. Valentine looks good; Judas is out. And of course, being a nun, Mother Superior has lots of opinions about the list and Catholicism in general. An interactive experience, the audience not only gets to vote, there are also prizes for those who can answer Mother Superior's trivia questions. And, as with all of the "nun" comedies, there's a question-and-answer segment where the audience can ask Mother Superior about anything! Just be sure you WANT to get her attention!
