If the Today show ever produced a psychological thriller, it would be MISHAP! This play blurs the lines of morning TV, reality shows and live theater to give you a glimpse into a couple's humorous and tragic private life. What mishap made their lives suddenly worthy of prime time? Is there still a line between our private and public lives? Find out in this show written by Icelandic playwright Bjarni Jónsson and produced by Akvavit Theatre, a company dedicated to bringing contemporary Nordic plays to North America. Learn More
Featuring a unique combination of improvisational comedy, education, and audience participation, Sex Signals provides a provocative look at the issues of dating, sex, and ultimately, acquaintance rape on college campuses. The two-person show explores how mixed messages, gender role stereotypes, and unrealistic fantasies contribute to misunderstandings between the sexes. This interactive program was first produced and critically acclaimed as The Sensitive Swashbuckler & Other Dating Myths at Chicago's highly respected Stage Left Theatre in May of 2000. Since then, the show has been performed over 1400 times at over 800 schools throughout the country. It has become one of the most popular programs on sexual assault awareness among college audiences and educators. With Sex Signals, Catharsis Productions is also proud to have received a 2007 Moxie Award from the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault for creative efforts to end sexual violence.
