Anne Kelly needs help. She's pushing 40 and still lives with her mother. Her deadbeat brother won't even return her calls and the ancient family home seems to be falling down around her. When Levi, a sweet but dim-witted younger man, comes into her life, Anne begins to see the upside of not always being the grown-up. Profiles Theatre presents the world premiere of Deirdre O'Connor's Assisted Living. Directed by Joe Jahraus, the production features Stacy Stoltz, Layne Manzer, Jordan Stacey and Shannon Hollander. If your world view is that the ugly conservative American uses the UN only for political leverage, while raping and brutalizing everyone in their wake; you will really get a charge out of Skin in Flames.Written on Feb 15 2008
If on the other hand you have any faith that the western world actually helps the third world (at least partly) because it is the kind, generous and correct thing to do, you may leave this show a little pissed off.
The UN scum in the play is only millimeters separated from the devil himself. He has absolutely no redeeming value at all. He is nothing but pure evil.
The photographer starts the play equally as harsh and unfeeling. But apparently because the US press is predominantly left leaning, he does have an epiphany and changes for the good during the course of the play.
So; in summation, The US does nothing for any country unless our own evil, selfish and political ends are reached. If you share that view, and have no faith or pride in the US, enjoy skin in Flames…..I didn’t.
In fairness to the cast, I did think that they were an exceptionally talented group. For a pre-view performance, it was practically flawless.

A young girl looks gently into the camera lens, her clothes and hair aflame, thrown through the air by an exploding bomb. Twenty years later the photojournalist returns to this war-torn country and agrees to an interview with an upstart female reporter who challenges his standing as a national hero. But the hotel room where they meet holds more secrets than either expects.
