This ain't your grandpa's Greek tragedy. The Trojan War may be over, but things are still plenty messy in the House of Atreus as Electra and her brother Orestes plot to avenge the death of their father Agamemnon at the hands of their own mother Clytemnestra and her lover. The Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. teams up with the school of theatre at Illinois State University to present this new adaptation of Euripides' tragedy, Electra. Director Sonja Moser sets the action in John Deere country, infusing the timeless tale with live rock music, humor, teen angst and plenty of dirty revenge. Learn More

Fantastic production! I was glad I had read the reviews about the location and the BYOB. My daughter went to Starbucks during intermission and also used their facilities, as they are extremely limited in the venue.

Superior acting made "Superior Donuts"--well, superior! The actors so embodied the colorful and diverse characters they were playing that we felt as though we were witnessing life in real time. The intimacy of the space and meticulous detail of the set added to the intensity of the experience. Bravo!

Outstanding performance! Good story. Theater very small and located up a flight of stairs. Plumbing needs repair, so use the washroom before you arrive. But, don't let this prevent you from enjoying the show!
