The Birds: Parody of the Classic Alfred Hitchcock Thriller
Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds starred Tippi Hedren as a beautiful blonde stranger who arrives in town just as a series of bird attacks begin plaguing the community. Returning to the stage once again, Hell in a Handbag's production of The Birds is part parody and part dark deconstruction of the 1963 thriller. Controversial American social critic Camille Paglia's essay about the classic film inspired writers David Cerda and Pauline Pang. In this version, you'll go behind the scenes and inside the mind of Hedren, a newcomer to film who Hitchcock took a professional interest in, which turned into a hellish obsession that nearly broke Hedren. Ridiculous and terrifying, The Birds is one of the most popular shows Hell in a Handbag's ever produced. And the Coach House on Berger Park in Lake Michigan adds an extra thrill to this disturbing theatrical experience.
