Direct from New York comes the comedy inspired by the Old Jews Telling Jokes website. Created by Peter Gethers and Daniel Okrent, the show features five actors performing a mix of monologues and songs that lovingly honor the timeless tradition of Jewish comedy by poking fun at it. Hilarious neuroses and tributes to comedy giants are put on full display. If you don't laugh you're probably dead -- even if you've never had a Jewish mother, visited a doctor or walked into a bar with a priest, a rabbi and a frog. Learn More

After the show I overheard someone else say "I really wanted to like this." I did like it, and appreciated the enthusiasm of the youthful cast, but the idea or gimmick at the center of the play (people wearing different colors as they go from being unattached emotionally to being in some fom of relationship, etc.) was just not substantial enough to kick around for the duration of a two-act play. If the play is going to be running for a while to come they really should chop it down to a fifty-minute one-act and do some new one-act play for the second half.
Artwork and title as shown on this website don't impart that this is, mostly, a happy, upbeat play so change something about these.
