Created by a cast of eleven actual Eagle Scouts, The Boy Scout Musical (Knot Prepared)'s characters speak from real-life experience.

A Woman's Path: An Absurd Send Up of Spiritual Retreats

Full Price:
$10.00
Our Price:
$5.00

If you've ever sung "Kumbaya" while burning sage and aligning your chakra by performing yoga on the red rocks of Sedona, you'll see the humor in this playful lampooning of for-profit, soul-bearing, women's retreats. A Woman's Path is more than a retreat for middle-aged women in clownishly tacky home-quilted blazers, it's the last chance at happiness for six disturbed, lost souls. Between arts and crafts, nature walks, horrific bear attacks, accidental lesbianism, fist fights and gallons upon gallons of cheap chardonnay, this weekend retreat turns into a healing journey that's seared into these ladies' memories for eternity. Performance was very loud, especially during the first act. I could have been wearing noise cancelling headphones and still heard the performance. Actors must have thought they were performing to a house of 2,000, rather than 50, and they could have successfully done so, without microphones.

Other than the volume, the show was somewhat amusing. I needed a second or third beer to really enjoy it.

This show was great. It was absolutely hilarious. I am an Eagle scout and went with a friend who is as well. We were both literally falling off our chairs we were laughing so hard. The show did a lot of camping humor, and general Boy Scout humor with a little twist. The cast was fantastic, and as enthusiastic as a camp staff. Absolutely recommend to anyone with scouting experience. You will laugh hysterically.

Description

The Boy Scout Musical (Knot Prepared) directed by Annoyance Founder and Artistic Director Mick Napier, is a wickedly funny show that follows a group of dedicated Boy Scouts on a mission.

Napier, himself an Eagle Scout, has directed over 15 reviews for The Second City including the Jeff Award-winning Paradigm Lost. His most heralded Annoyance show, Co-Ed Prison Sluts, still holds the record for Chicago’s longest running musical.

Musical Director Lisa McQueen has created memorable scores for many Annoyance musicals including 40 Whacks, The Invention Show, and the heralded Tippi, Portrait of a Virgin: An Afterschool Special Gone Bad. With Tiny Fascists her comedic score brings to life this musical that satirizes this country's greatest nationalistic and masculine fraternity.
