From uproarious comedies like The Odd Couple to hard-hitting dramas like The China Syndrome, Jack Lemmon was one of the most versatile actors of his generation. Now, his distinctive voice returns to the stage as son Chris Lemmon portrays his father in a new solo show exploring his unlikely journey from Newton, Mass. to becoming the first actor ever to win the Oscar for both Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor. Trained in classical piano, Chris Lemmon's music-filled performance is a celebration of one of Hollywood's greatest legends, and an exploration of a fascinating relationship between father and son. The show is written and directed by Hershey Felder, whose one man productions -- including George Gershwin Alone, Maestro Bernstein and last season's smash hit Mona Golabek in The Pianist of Willesden Lane -- have played to great acclaim worldwide. OK..I thought this was going to be a annoyingly hokey/somewhat entertaining production. Wrong! This was a seriously funny and pleasurable night out. I had tears of laughter and a perpetual grin on my face. Loved the honkey tonk staging/bar setting. The actors were excellent country western singers too...just a great night out of needed laughter. THANK you!
