An innocent young writer struggling with his own homosexuality has his eyes opened to the dark and desperate side of society when he moves into a 1930s New Orleans rooming house and meets its collection of ailing and eccentric residents. A fascinating bookend to Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer Prize-winning career, the famed playwright began writing this autobiographical play when he first moved to the French Quarter in 1938, but it wasn't completed and staged until 1977. This Raven Theatre revival highlights the poetic language and vivid characters that would echo throughout Williams' most famous works, including The Glass Menagerie and A Streetcar Named Desire.
