Small personable theater musical comedy, singing well done and not too much of it. good song lyrics to well know Irish songs. Very funny while in keeping with the original concept of the play

Overall it was not too good -- difficult to follow with the thick Irish accents and it was really drawn out. There were too many actors on the stage at some points which took away from the story/impact of the scenes.

Musical numbers were good, but language spoken was difficult to understand; too chaotic and discombobulated; left at first intermission as did a number of other viewers.

Description

Brendan Behan’s most celebrated play set in a Dublin brothel is a rollicking, bawdy comedy, full of brawling energy, song and satire. The lives of its colorful inhabitants are disrupted one evening when a young British soldier is brought in to be held in exchange for an IRA loyalist about to be executed. Laughter, tears, joy, and fear intertwine in this music hall staging directed by Jonathan Berry.
