Description
What would Miles Davis (5/26/26) and John Coltrane (9/23/26)--both of whom would now be 80 years old--think of the "Latin Side Of…" project? Chances are they would dig it big-time.
This multi-Grammy-nominated, power-packed septet is composed of some of today's most formidable players. Co-leaders Conrad Herwig and Brian Lynch have lived in the Latin music community for a long time, including supporting Eddie Palmieri for more than a decade. The other players in this project top the charts when it comes to being in demand. Everyone from the late Tito Puente and Lincoln Center's Afro-Cuban Jazz Orchestra to David Sanchez has tried to land one or more of these players in their groups.
With several high-profile, large stage and festival gigs behind them, this ensemble has melded into one exciting group. Their most recent releases include Sketches of Spain: Y Mas (Half-Note), Que Viva Coltrane (Criss Cross) and Another Kind of Blue: The Latin Side of Miles Davis (Half Note).
Don’t miss a note as they showcase the work of two of jazz’s most significant icons, Miles and Coltrane.
