Partner swapping goes awry in The Qualms, the new comedy by Pulitzer-winning playwright Bruce Norris (Clybourne Park). In this darkly funny world premiere from Steppenwolf Theatre Company and Tony-winning director Pam MacKinnon, a group of friends gathers at a beachside apartment complex for their regular evening of food, drink, drugs and sex. But when a new couple joins the party, the freewheeling night devolves into a territorial battle over mating privileges. Often compared to Edward Albee for his witty examinations of the American psyche, Norris is one of two playwrights (the other being David Mamet) to win a Pulitzer, Tony and Olivier Award for a single play. In The Qualms, he delves into the eternal struggle for power and status. Learn More

In a posh home in a small town in Africa, a wealthy American entrepreneur, flamboyant government representative, young Christian missionary and his girlfriend meet by accident. When one of them goes missing, they are forced to confront their benevolent notions of themselves and the realities of the world. The result is a stunning comedic effect: hilarious characters with something vital to say.
