I rarely take the time to write online reviews of events but I enjoyed this production so much that I am very likely to spend the money to see it a second time. The playwright, Samuel Hunter, does a phenomenal job of creating multidimensional...continued

This is an above average evening at the theater. Very good all the way around. Could have have been a little shorter though.

This play was much better to Samuel Hunter's earlier, A Bright New Boise, that I enjoyed. While there were a few two many overly broad metaphors about whales and water and life, the story did make me think, and also had a wonderful dramatic...continued

GREAT ACTING!! This production is something that you don't want to miss. So you think it is call the WHALE; because it deals with obesity (just wait and see). Charlie's obesity only opens up the door to EACH character ISSUE(s).

Great performance. Complex plot wonderfully acted by excellent cast. Paul Calandra's portrayal of the obese Charlie was superb.

The play dealt with serious issues that confront families. I found it a kind of Virginia Woolf with a real child. The acting by the main character was great. The rest of the cast was a bit uneven.

The Whale is one of the strongest productions I've seen in a long time. The script is absolutely genius.

Outstanding production. You could hear a "pin drop" - almost all of the time. Acting, directing, lighting & set were superb. Leah Karpel's Ellie - Magnificent! My only criticism deals with the ending, which I thought was slightly flat. ...continued

First class cast. Story was compelling, and each actor developed his/her emotions to the fullest. Mesmerizing. Thanks so much for a great experience.

The most important thing about this show is that you cared about each actor. Their performances were stellar and believeable on every level.
Even tho they were sad human beings you saw that they all want love in their life & the struggle of...continued

Really beautiful, difficult, but profound story, extremely well-done by an outstanding cast and director.

This is an outstanding play. The play is beautifully crafted, with very real characters coming to life before us. The acting is superb. Dale Calandra gives his finest performance as "Charlie" and the other actors help form a strong ensemble. ...continued

I enjoyed the story very much. Much of it involved today's issues and problems reflected in the story. The only problem was that I was on the left, fourth row and could barely hear the lead actor.

Our seats were the best in the house--front row and center is our favorite. In regard to the play, the acting was amazing!!

Acting , writing, excellent.
Complex play-many layers-relationships, obesity, homosexuality, adolescence, alchoholism. Keeps you thinking after the play.

Fabulous. Although the play was intense and sad I thoroughly enjoyed. The writing and acting were great. I highly recommend this play.
