Members Who Went Said:My wife and I thought this presentation was EXCELLENT! Cast did a great job conveying the spirit of the times (late 60's early 70's). It's a shame more people weren't in attendance - the theatre-going community of Chicago is missing good talent and productions here.
Barbara Feig It was outstanding. I highly recommend it.
Emily The acting was very good and I feel they deserve the support! |

More Details About This Event: Loosely adapted from Hedda Gabler, The Wind Cries Mary explores Ibsen's timeless themes of power and gender politics during the high point of the civil rights movement and '60s rock 'n' roll. Philip Kan Gotanda transforms Hedda Gabler into Eiko Hanabi, a Japanese American woman whose strength and intelligence is handcuffed by the burdens of gender and tradition. However, the political and racial climate of 1968 San Francisco could bring about a new model of freedom and choice for minorities and women.
